Hey Bud,

I have a stock 2000 LS with the push button 4wd, I have the same issue, what i've been doing to get mine in and out of 2Hi and 4wd is theres a connection located under the hood near the hood light, I've been disconnecting that to get in and out of gear. What im going to do is take to a garage and have them dismount the front shaft and check the transfer motor, I replaced the motor when i purchased mine and it seemed to help but, still have the occuring issue

i've decided to do something that a buddy told me about. you go to a scrap yard or swap meet or wherever you'd normally get 2nd hand parts, locate an NP231 floor shift T-case, get the shifter cable, shift lever and bracket, and centre console out of a pre-'97 blazer/jimmy/s-10/sonoma that had a flor shift and swap that in. and to completly get away from vacuum lines, you swap the extension housing of the front diff with one from an AWD safari/astro van. i got all the parts i needed from a local scrap yard for about $60
