Default no tow hooks were to hook to strap? please help

ok. i got my 2000 s10 blazer stuck in my back yard. its 2wd and the tires aren't the best. i got the rear tires to sit on to flat cinder blocks but i still couldn't get out. later today my buddy is coming over to try and get me un stuck. he has an 86 jeep Cherokee it is 4x4 with some decent tires and the motor is a 2.8 v6. its been raining all day and night so its really muddy and will be that way for awhile. so were do i hook the tow strap there's no tow hooks so i have no idea were to put it. and do you all have any tips about getting it out? i can't afford to break anything so i need to be very careful.

Hook around the right frame horn just behind the steering box. Stay clear of any wiring and pop off the plastic boot around the lower steering shaft,

Which direction does it need to go? Pulling it forward or backward? Is it a straight pull or is it going to need to turn in order to make it out?
