To my right there was a steep bank (~25 feet at maybe a 40- 45 degree angle~) at the top of the bank was an empty lane leading directly to the parking lot at the mall. So using my rural North Carolina and West Virginian ingenuity I dropped my Blazer into 4 low and drove straight up the bank. Wish I would've had a camera to get the look on the faces of all the Audi drivers around me.
Now that's some practical urban wheelin'! I would love to do that kind of thing even if everything thinks I'm a jerk. I did do it once though, but it was an extremely shallow retention ditch similar to the pictures I've uploaded here. Low and behold a cop saw me and pulled me over promptly, but he only let me off with a warning and a good talking. "I'll never do it again, Officer."
