I believe this is either emerald green metallic or fairway green metallic...

43/WA177B - Emerald Green Metallic
87/WA309D - Fairway Green Metallic

But after looking at the chips in the links above, it looks like it is the 87/WA309D - Fairway Green Metallic. I found those by using http://www.expresspaint.com/ and plugging in a 1997 Chevrolet.

WA309D is the GM paint code which translates over to PPG 5250, Dupont D9729, & Sherwin Williams 53516.

43U is Woodland Green Metallic (43U/WA299C).

Here are the paint codes with a representative color:
43U/WA299C - Woodland Green Metallic
43/WA177B - Emerald Green Metallic
87/WA309D - Fairway Green Metallic

Maybe post 97 paint codes were different, all I know is my RPO code is 43U

The paint I ordered & used was 43U Emerald Green Metallic

And this is what it looks like in the sunlight. I painted the bumpers & end caps with those cans. Id say it matches pretty darn good.

EDIT: In case anyone is interested, the place i ordered the paint was http://www.autopaintdirect.com/

Look at the codes after the BC/CC and you will find L 177B which corresponds with the Emerald Green Metallic, not the Woodland Green Metallic.

RPO 43U meant a lot of different things on up through the years and should not be used to identify paint. Only the paint code should be used.

It's not like the picture in the first post is color corrected and certified, either. Trying to guess what a color code is from a photo is a recipe for disaster.
