Default Winter Grille covers and inserts.

Anyone have a winter grille cover/insert on their blazer/jimmy? I can't seem to find anything nice (gets down to -40 here) and this truck could really benefit from one.

All I can find is some generic looking Fia cover, and I can't even seem to find a picture of it installed on a blazer.

At this point, I am just considering spraypainting some cardboard or acrylic matte black and sticking it behind the grille.

Would like to see what you guys are rocking.

I reside in the UP of Michigan where it regularly drops to -freeze my bum off and drive an 01 Jimmy. Haven't had issues with it in the crazy cold. Just allow extra time to warm up if you want the inside warm. Otherwise the car should be fine for average driving.

If you really feel the need to fill the grill I would recommend bits of Rubbermaid totes or barrels. That plastic is rugged and can be cut to fill the backside of your upper or lower grille opening.

Cheers!

Since i added an aftermarket trans cooler Ive started running a couple strips of black duct tape on the lower section of the grille in the cold weather... sounds hacked i know, but its cheap / easy and you can't even notice it's there unless you're standing like 3 feet away and staring at the grille

Not having TC lockup due to a cold trans got old quick. I was gonna take a pic but the trucks covered in snow right now...
