Default ECM/PCM Tuning

So, I've begun to do some mods to my 96 Jimmy, and I'm itching to do a few more (gibson exhaust, high flow cat, possibly headers). Now, I know that these mods will not be of full benefit unless I get a tune.

I live near Houston, TX and I'm sure someone around here could help me out, but there are just so many options and it's so hard to decide who I can trust. I do all my own mechanical work because I have a strong distrust for most mechanics and I like to do the work anyways.

The question is, should I go with something like the Jet dynamic tuner (I'm not even 100% sure that it can do everything I would need it to do), or should I buy a spare pcm and ship it off to get it tuned by someone?

I'm sure some of you have gotten your trucks tuned. How did you go about this? Please, i'm open to any suggestions, be it a tuner I can buy and use myself, or if someone knows anyone in the area or online.

Thanks guys.

Nobody has any experience with this? I'm skeptical of using the Jet chips/modules, I'm just curious how everybody deals with tuning around here
