Default 2000 GMC Jimmy electrical/battery

Jimmy sits for 2 days - battery dead. Replaced battery before this problem when coolant leak in heater repaired, had dash removed. Friend advised I was not closing rear glass hatch completely and draining battery but I would have seen the interior light come on. Could glycol leakage cause wires to ground or reassembling the dash could cause this problem?
