Default Emblems

I am looing to shave my Blazer emblems of my truck and I know how to do that with all the reading I have done herebut my question is when I bought the truck from the dealer they put one of their Dealer labels on the back tailgate. How do I go about removing that one without scratching the paint??

Your Blazer will look so much better after you shave all the emblems. I bought some adhesive remover and I sprayed it on the blazer, chevrolet, and the black protectors at the bottom of the doors. I also sprayed the vinyl dealer label on the back of my car. I let everything soak for about 10 minutes (I wouldn't do it for much longer). Then I used a black, non stick spatula to scrape the emblems and vinyl labels off. It worked wonders. Then I used some wax and waxed over where the emblems. Easy.

When I took the PARAMOUNT CHEVY badge off the back, i used a heat gun. I held it there for aboutten seconds and then I pulled the badge right off. I then took some Bug &Tar remover to get the rest of the adhesive off, then waxed it. I never considered taking the door trim off. If it wasn't there there is not telling how many dings I would have.

For adhesive i would use mineral spirits, alittle goes a long way. You cant get it at most autoparts stores.

Thanx guys. My buddy has a heat gun so I will borrow it off him sometime. Eurogold I don't have the trim on mine just the emblems. So no worries about that one.

I have removed a few of the dealer decals before and using a soappy water solution and letting it soak, then taking a razor blade very carefully and a very low angle should take it off, then just wax and buff the spot. Just go slow and easy with the razor blade. They also make plastic razor blades that look just like the metal but dont scratch as easy and do about the same job.

Would a blow dryer also work, instead of a heat gun?

Cool. I bought a bunch of black Chevy bowtie emblems off Ebay, and I know they'll look a lot better than the stock puke-yellow emblems that came with the truck.

Crew, I still have couple of questions, though...

1) My truck is 11 years old. When I remove the emblems, isn't it likely that the paint under the removed emblems will be a different color than the rest of the truck? If so, is there a cheap way to hide this? (If not, I may just decide to have the entire truck painted again anyway.)

2) My truck has "LS" emblems located on the upper part of the door. Can I easily remove these also without scratching the paint? I found these cool "SS" emblems that match the bowties, but it would look stupid if I put those on without removing the "LS" emblems first.
