well, I've never heard of using the hinges on a Blazer, but I have heard of using the lifters.

I think what he's looking for is a way to put gas shocks on the hood... I can't remember any threads on this subject here though. I know I found a site a long while ago that had custom made gas shock mounts for s-series vehicles. I'll be looking to do the same thing on my Rainier sometime soon as well.

You can go get the ones they have at Autozone. They are for Jeep Libertys i think, but a buddy of mine put them on his s10 and they are pretty good. You have to figure out precisely which angle and have the pivot joints and everything.

here is the thread from our site
and it will eventually take you here

EDIT: the guy on txzr2.com said "Phil Chivers of SyTy.net, makes hood strut kits for 1st & 2nd Gen S-10's."
but the link takes you to a syclone/typhoon website so im not sure where you get the 2nd gen kit

Probably not a whole lot different...

I was tempted to find the big beefy springs from a full-size and see if I can bolt 'em up, lol

Oh I know what youre talking about now. "Corvetting" your hood. I tell you its a pain to work on with a suicide hood.

eurogoldls is right if your going to do that mod you might want to think about a suicide kit to have it open to a side instead of corvette style have it open to the side
