Spelling, Punctuation, & Grammar
Many members here get frustrated trying to read some posts that are typed quickly with very little regard to proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Please take the time to make your posts easily legible so that you can get the answers you seek more quickly.
If a moderator or administrator has directed to this topic, don't take it as an insult. This is advice to help you. If we're trying to help you, please start by helping to make yourself be better understood.
If you pay attention to these 6 items, you will get more timely and accurate responses to your posts:
1. Use capital letters at the beginning of each sentence. Don't ever type in ALL CAPS. This is the same as yelling on the internet.
2. With the plethora of add-on spell checkers for most any internet browser, spelling errors should be easy to avoid. This helps everyone reading your post to clearly understand what it is you are talking about.
3. Use proper grammar. Run-on sentences are very hard to follow.
4. Get to the point quickly in your topic. Covering unimportant details in a long post can cause impatience in the people that read your posts.
5. Use punctuation and put a space after a period, exclamation point, or question mark.
6. Sentence and paragraph structure may be the most important. Consider listing your symptoms in one paragraph, then asking your specific questions in the next paragraph, rather than having it all run together.
By following these 6 rules, your posts will be easier to read and should garner more responses.
This post is meant to be an informational post. Only the Moderators and Administrators should be directing members to this topic. If any member sees another member that could benefit from this, please PM a Mod or Admin and we will take it from there.
Thanks!!
