Default 4x4 Not Working

I picked up a 97 blazer for $500. Well i took it throught some trails w/out testing the 4x4, and i found out in some ruts that it don't work. I can hear something clicking under the truck when i out it in 4hi or 4lo. I checked the fuse, and its good, so i beleive the that it is not the switch.

Thanks,
Brandon

What is your truck doing? Is the 4x4 button on your dash indicating that your truck is locked in 4 wheel or is the light just blinking? Do you hear any noises when you push the 4x4 button as if your truck is trying to engage in 4 wheel?

The light comes on and stays on. Yes I hear noises, it kinda sounds like the shift motor kicking on, and when I take it out I hear a small clunk.

Default RE: 4x4 Not Working

I once had a 93 GMC Jimmy with push button 4 wheel drive. I did a tune up on it and in the process, knocked loose a vacuum line that was part of the 4x4 setup. My hubs were locking, but the 4x4 system was not engaging. The line was on the back of the engine, passenger side some where. Once I reconnected that, worked great.

I figured it out, the vacuum acuator was disconnected.

I was just going to say that.
