My New Toy
Hey guys/gals. Been off the forums for a while, but figured I would show you what I've been up to.
I still have james, although he doesn't driven much.
However, some of you will remember that I used to have a Yamaha xt250. well this spring I traded the xt in for a 09 Honda xr650l. and pretty much all my spare time I have been riding it.
pics
pretty much stock, besides the new tail light and fmf pipe.
here you can see the street tires that came on it.
Some pics I took by the Milwaukee art museum
The Sh&$y street tires were down to belts so replaced them with some 50/50 meats. Also in this pic you can see the stock fender was replaced with a crf450 fender and Baja designs led tail light
That brings us to now. Replaced the stock flimsy ice cream scoop "hand guards" With some aluminum braced once that brace off the handlebars.
also have low profile inboard mirrors

I didn't want a 650 cause of the added weight........ Until I rode it. The Low end torque is intoxicating lol
To quote ferris beuller, "if you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up"

The 650s are awesome!! I rode one of my buddies for a few days while had my R1 to see if he liked it and I have been addicted to them ever since. I'll probably go 450 tho when the time comes just because it will strictly be a dick around make people angry and me happy bike lol! The 650 is nice tho cause it can comfortably and reliably handle hi way speeds as a commuter where the higher revs of the 450 would be taxing unless you geared it out but I don't plan to spend much of my time on two wheels lol!

exactly why I went with a 650. Its comfortable at 75 80 mph and you are doing so at half throttle. Also with all that torque and low gearing it pulls the front wheel up real easy..... which always makes a bad day better lol
