4WD wont disengage
Hey guys, so Im having a problem with my 2000 blazer. The 4WD wont disengage. For over a year now Ive had a problem with getting it to switch at all, but usually if I switched to another drive before the truck was warmed up it would work just fine. Now, since I live in the north, I obviously have to use my 4WD. This past winter I put it in 4hi and now it wont come out. When I try to put it back in 2hi, nothing happens. No sounds, no clicks, the light stay solid on the 4WD button. Im at a loss as to what it could be. I had to resort to pulling the fuse under the hood so I wouldnt ruin anything else by driving in 4 with no snow. Anyone have any suggestions?

It does have an auto button so its a 4 button system. Theres just so many things that could be wrong and I dont have the time to get under there and try to diagnose it, which is why I was hoping someone could narrow it down for me. I will try to clean the transfer case plug and see if that does the trick, but at this point, im very hopeless lol

Don't let it get you down. There are a lot of 4wd threads here to study. Make sure you're looking at 4 button systems.
You should have some time before a snowstorm hits to fix this. Instead of seeing a big, complicated system. Look at like a sequence of simple things. Did your "service 4wd" light come on before you pulled the fuse?
There are 4 codes that diagnose 4wd problems. Someone with a scanner could check them. Make sure it will read 4wd codes. Also, I would find some loose driving surface and make sure that it really is back in 2wd.
