Default Converting 4x4 to 4x2?

I have a 1983 chevrolet s-10 Blzer 4x4( 2.8 v6 / 5 spd man)

both front cv joints are locked up and im not much of a fan of 4x4 after my pond adventure (dont ask)

i was wondering if there is an easy/ cheap way to convert it from a 4x4 to a 4x2 seeing as how i will never go 4x4ing again
and with gas prices nowdays a 4x4 is a pain to put gas in

iv'e heard that you can pull the cv joints, the front drive shaft, and make covers for where your cv joints connected to the front axle, but this is only a rumor from what ive heard

so, is there a way that i can do this? without completly redo'ing the front end and transmission?

(here is the only pic i got for now if its flawless body besides paint, not to bad for a 83 blazer, considering it was free)
