98 C233 Transfer Case Fluid Change
Bought this 98 last year, lots of miles so I wanted to change the transfer case fluid. Changed the fluid by the normal procedure to remove top plug, then lower. Was met with a surprise. A lot offluid came out of the top, I mean a pint or more. I then removed the lower for a complete drain. Put the lower plug back in and filled through the top to the designated,'til over flowing, put the upper plug back in and was done. Trouble is when I started to drive I picked a vibration and some clicking sounds. Anyone have anyideas? I unloaded old red and put red back in.

It is quite possible that your rear transmission seal is leaking and filled the transfer case with transmission fluid. Bad part is, you'll need to remove the transfer case to replace it. Keep an eye on your transmission fluid.
Unless you have the Auto4wd option, you can use regular ATF fluid. If you have the Auto4wd, you really should use the AutoTrac II fluid.

RE: 98 C233 Transfer Case Fluid Change
Thanks for the help, I believe the rear transmission seal is leaking fluid into the transfercase. I took it to an auto shop and they foundout that it was the Ujoints on the rear driveshaft. So they replaced them and it works perfect now other than being low on trans. fluid, which I keep topping off for now till the transfercase is full again.
