Default I only have 4LO

Hi all. I have a 93 Full-size Blazer with only 109,000 miles. We got our first snow of the year and I tried to put it in 4HI and nothing happened. When I went to put it back into 2HI I heard a little grind so I backed off, put the truck into neutral and tried slipping it into 2HI again. This time it worked but the front axle indication lights came on. So I put it back into 4HI and it went too easy, if fact I can take the shift lever up to 4LO and down to 4HI and nothing happens. Apparently the truck is stuck in 4LO. Does anyone have any suggestions before I rip into it or take it to a shop? Thanks in advance.

It did suck. What I found out is that the linkage to the transfer case came off. I was able to get the truck in 2WD but could not get the pin all the way in. So, I took it to the Chevy dealer and for $40 they reattached it properly and lubricated the transfer case for me. Hope yours is fixed White&Proud.

Holy hell man! Exactly what the problem is. At the shop right now! Now if only I could figure out why my 4hi/lo light stays on even in 2hi...this truck never ceases to amaze me
