Default Solid Axle

so i got the axle to do my SAS with today. its a high pinion dana 30 out of a '89 Wrangler. scored the entire assembly for $120. anyway i have a question about it. when i turn the yoke at the diff. it only seems to turn the right hub. the left one will rotate sometimes but not always. but when i rotate either hub in either direction the yoke will turn no problem. any ideas? maybe its supposed to do this but i dont know a whole lot about axles so this whole project will be one big learning experience. also things im going to do to the axle before install are leaf over axle, and gear swap to 4.56 gears. now with the leaf over mod will it interfere with the crossover steering? it doesn't look like it will but im not sure. thanks for the help.

Yea that's normal for a open diff. power goes to the least resistance. Leaf over shouldn't interfier. The steering arm will be at the top of the knuckle and move with the axle. My front leafs are flat with little arch and don't bottom

Is that axle going to be wide enough? I've always thought people use the cherokee axles cause they are close to stock

You can probably just measure the wheel mounting surface on that axle then the same on your rear axle to see if its close
