(Steering Box, Gearbox) Which can I swapout to on my Jimmy?
Which (power-steering) gearboxes will work on my '99 Jimmy 4x4 ?
I busted mine from trying to press the Pitman arm back onto the splines of my old steering box, . Now I learn that you don't need to try and get it all the way back up the splines.
Which makes and models will work...Be specific please.
Thanks for any responses because I need to get one in asap.
Also will a 2wd work because I know where one is for a bargain?

2wd is different then the 4wd. pretty sure it swings the opposite way. also the astro van box bolts up too but again its the opposite way. might just be stuck with the s10 box. you can buy them new but they usually arent really cheep

Got some contradicting statements, I would like to find the answer. But I got one from a 4wd Blazer at the junkyard today picked it up and installed it, with a good pitman arm on it to boot. Hoping its don't fluke on me, when I get everything together.

do some google searching, there are a lot of people that have done it. crew cab forum has some info, s10forum, I know there was some info for it on zr2usa but I couldn't find it in my quick search.
It 100% can be done and has been done numerous times.
But regardless, glad you found a box, hopefully it'll last you a long time.

I used a 88 Monte Carlo SS box on mine and did the flaming river universal swap for the rag joint.... Absolutely no play anymore! Everything was bolt on and very easy to do. Love that quick ratio steering now. Pretty sure there's a place on here that goes to all the boxes that are interchangeable with our blazers. But glad you found one... How it works for ya!

The zq8 box only has a quicker ratio. The slop comes from the rag joint, idler arm and tie rod ends. I posted in your other thread as well but if slop is a problem also look into the rag joint to u joint conversion or even the jeep steering shaft swap.
