The ZR2 had the larger (& wider) 8.125" ring gear 10-bolt diff while your truck has the 7.625" ring gear. The ZR2 axle will bolt in. It may or may not have the G80 "gov-lock" differential.
A power-trax drop in locker into your stock open carrier would be the easiest and cheapest approach to take.

Really, the ZR2 May or may not have a g80???? I would think that they would put a g80 in all zr2's.

The ZR2 is not the only blazer with a stock 8.5 Ring Gear
I have a 2001 2dr ls Blazer 5 Speed with a 8.5 Ring Gear
i had to get my rear axle out of state because the Zr2
axle is longer and the other axles are a 28 spline
my axles / the zr2 are 30 spline
