Zr2 vs. Non zr2

Zr2 vs. Non zr2
As I own both a 98 ZR2 and an 02 Jimmy SLS I get to see the differences almost everyday...
From what I have seen the frames ARE the same. But here are the differences I have noticed:
Front cross member sits lower and further back on the ZR2
Different control arms that are mounted lower on the frame then the NON ZR2
The front skid plates are different, but the other 2 are the same
You do not need to remove steering shaft on my ZR2 to get at the #3 plug.
Springs are 2" higher in the rear, but mount in the same spots.
Shackles are same length.
Now before I do my SFA in the spring, ill actually put both trucks on jack stand side by side. I then will get my buddy who does photography to take pics, and I will measure both frames.

I think the ZR2 has heavier duty sway bar too (i believe) along with +5 hp Stickers!
#3
Ill measure all that when I get the chance... Im ripping off the sway bars next time I go out wheeling...

dont forget the rear axle is bigger/wider on the zr2 to and a locker under 20mph i believe?
#5
as for the 'locker' look into the G80 "gov lock" it is an eaton 'locker' in title only. it's like a posi rear end.... nothing special really. i believe all g80 axles have the same thing, with the ZR2's being wider. that is why the vehicle has such good low end torque and shifts so firmly into 2nd with a sweet tire chirp if you play it right.
Might be wrong though....

I cant cirp 33x14" Boggers with my ZR2 though

*comforts you a little* it's ok.
I have an idea. trade me your 33's and I'll give you some tires you can chirp all day long. hell melt them to the ground if you like

Boggers are $800, the Pro comps on rims are $750...

see, i had told Curtis that the frames weren't any different between the two, and iwas hoping that you would take it upon yourself to set us straight.
on the wider SP, where is it wider? and i'm guessing the mounting points are different as well.

no one said the frame was wider old skool i said the axel is wider. as for the plate, it is LONGER i believe he said... it was in another post, either way, with out a valance the filter and housing would still have shown
As for the cost of the boggers and rims, then it looks like i'll make a killing on this trade!! I'll pm you my mailing address...
