Wore out my 1993 Caprice (over 250,000 on it) didn't want to put anymore in it as only a new engine would have fixed it so I picked this up for $1,900. Not in bad shape, mostly just neglected. Put it in the garage and tore into it. Needed the typical: new shocks, complete fluid/filter change, tune up, vacuum hoses, vent actuator, loose nuts and bolts, door hinge pins, LIM job. Still Im happy because its less than a car payment. Ended up giving away the Caprice, I'll miss that car as it served me well for almost 11 years.
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
LIM replaced with superior Felpro gaskets. Dexcool flushed and forgotten. Good ole green ethylene glycol universal put in. Heater core replaced.
Suspension Modifications:
Heavy duty KYB GR2/Excel-G Shocks, High Energy Suspension bushings, Moog steering and ball joint replacement parts. Replaced all rotors and pads; ceramic brakes.
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
Fixed spare tire squeak, does that count?
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
New grille, flat black, new lower valance, painted bumper to match, added clear turning lenses w/ amber light bulbs. Looks soooo much better.
Overhead console, full length, cant even tell its not stock.
Replaced those crappy seats with ones from a newer model.
Future Modifications:
Figure out how to make the e-brake work when I'm parked nose up in driveway. (it works when parked nose down????) Even the guys at Sun Tire (a local Florida tire/light repair/alignment shop) said they can't fix it. Read more ยป
