1989 S-10 Blazer 4x4 will not start
I was wondering if anyone has had this problem. My blazer will not attempt to start. When you put the key in and turn it, nothing happens. Not one sound from the starter. Everything else works like it is supposed to. The battery is fully charged. All dash lights come on like a normal start up but when I turn the switch, nothing. I thought it might be a ignition switch, changed it, nothing. Could it be the neutral safety switch? Or does a failed starter motor or solenoid fail without making any kind of noise? I used the Blazer yesterday, parked it and next day nothing, no warning at all. I also tried moving the shift lever around and trying ti, also. Thanks for any pointers on this problem, that some you of might have had. My blazer is: 1989, 202,000 miles, auto tranny, 4x4 and I do not remember ever putting a starter on it.

Yes a starter can go without warning. You can always try bridging the starter solonoid with a screwdriver. Put the key in the on position, crawl under the car and jump the two posts on the starter with the screwdriver. If you have a bad solonoid the starter will crank. If nothing happens then the starter motor probally died. I would also make sure the the wires on the starter are on securely. (No loosse connections)

Just tap on your starter with a hammer lightly or a zippo etc. If it just happened it probably needs a tap. But get this **** fixed right away at your local garage.
