Default 1993 4.3 cpi starting problems

hey all , new to the forum , I am looking for a little help.

I have a 1993 s10 blazer 4X4 with the 4.3 vortec with the CPI fuel injection on it.

My girl was driving one day and it came to a stop, would not start again. Had car towed home . I had plenty of spark so next went to fuel. I noticed the fuel pump would not come on when I turned the key so figured it was fuel pump . Dropped the tank put a new fuel pump and now the fuel pump will come on when the key is turned but it still will not start. I can pour fuel into the intake and the car will run until fuel i poured in is burnt up . Car still will not run.

I can push down on the fuel pressure relief valve and it will spray fuel, so I know I am getting fuel to the intake but I don't think it is spraying through the fuel injectors , well haha obviously it is not spraying through the injectors the dang thing will not run. The relay is working as the pump will come on for 2 seconds and I believe the oil pressure switch is working because when I pour fuel into the intake and it runs, as it is about to die I can hear the fuel pump working.

any input or help would be greatly appreciated

fuel diagnosis with a pressure gauge. Fuel might be coming out of the check valve but might not be enough PSI to make the injectors spray correctly

No there not the same tbi requires 15 psi cpi requires 60 psi

just did a little looking on autozone website and that's exactly what happened. They gave us the TPI fuel pump and not the CPI fuel pump . Thanks guys for the input and will get back here to post up the end results. Got to drop the dang tank for a third time .

I'm sure you've thought of this buuuuuut....You might want to clean that tank out while you've got it dropped, helps to extend the life of your pump, that's always a bonus !!!!!

I hope you didnt swap it out with another aftermarket pump...

you might be thinking "oh these guys are just wanting it done right, but its my money etc"

We are speaking from how many times WE have dropped the tank to replace the pumps.there is a quality difference. between that and these blazers being picky as hell, buy a ac delco or delphi.
