2.8 4x4 Oil Dipstick Question
I have a 88 s10 blazer 4x4 that I am doing a 3.4 swap, it is almost complete but I need a dipstick tube for the engine oil. I would like a new one, factory would be great but if anyone knows where I can get an aftermarket on that works well please let me know, I have searched for hours with out coming up with anything. Or if anyone has one they can sell please let me know.

After a quick google search for "camaro 3.4L dipstick tube" this post popped up showing the OEM # for the tube is 10151690 and, according to Nalley GM Parts (which came up after a google search for the tube PN) ,the dipstick is OEM # 24504405.
That should help you in your search. You are looking for 93-95 Camaro/Firebird 3.4L applications. I am not sure if the part numbers above cross over to any of the transverse mount 3.4L applications. Probably not.

I wouldn't know the differences without laying them side by side. Most likely it is just in routing which could have an impact on length for both.
After doing a bit more reading on 2.8L to 3.4L swaps, a lot of people end up using the 2.8L timing cover & pan on the 3.4L donor motor in applications where space is a premium (ex. fiero). This should allow you to use the original 2.8L dipstick & tube without any adverse effects to the oil level in the engine or oil capacity differences between the two motors.

I had the original dip stick tube for my 2.8 but within the year Ive been working on the truck at some point either me or my son has thrown it out or something, it is nowhere to be found. Now that the engine, transmission and transfer case have been redone I can find it. Sucks.

I just recently bought a new dipstick tube for our old farm truck (a 2004 Silverado 2500HD) from the dealer in town and it was only like $15. I bought it when I bought new exhaust manifold bolts as I had to pull the old one when I pulled the manifolds to drill out a few of the broken bolts.
I would go there to see if they can get it and how much it would cost for the pair. Most of the online dealership websites do not show it as being available anymore. Nalley GMC parts shows that it is available, but with almost $18 in s&h, the total comes to just over $41 for both the tube & the dipstick. Not bad if you really need it, IMHO; but you can probably do better locally. The tube should be ~$10 and the dipstick ~$18 after dealer markups.
