We are trying to figure out whats wrong with my 94 4.3 blazer, there is a ton of fuel in the intake (which, ruined the cat...YES!!) and we messured 60 psi of fuel pressure at idle. Is this normal?

There is a leak somewhere in the intake, we just need to figure out where.

 

I suggest you pop off the upper plenum and pressurize the system. It should become rather obvious where the fuel leak is.

If you remove the spider to replace the fuel pressure regulator, you will want to purchase new internal fuel lines (commonly referred to as the 'nut kit'). These lines do not like to be reused.

Lindertech.com has pretty much everything that you will need.

 

Did that, but there was no fuel leak anywhere. This is odd. It was dirty minus the are where the 2 lines go through the manifold. It was clean right there. We could not find a fuel leak anywhere. We tested it after we pulled the spider injector off. Maybe one of the connections came loose? We are replacing the gasket, and my mechainic buddy thinks it might be a map sensor. I am stumped.

 

So... Did you have a leak inside the plenum or not? In your first post you stated that you had "a ton of fuel in the intake"...

To answer your question on the fuel pressure, yes 60psi at idle is normal.

A MAP sensor could cause over fuelling of the engine, but will not cause fuel to pool in the lower intake...

 

We had fuel puddled in the lower intake when we pulled it off, but when we did a pressure test of the system, it wouldn't leak anywhere after we put the spider injector back in.

 

Ok. But you are still experiencing the same problem?

 

We haven't put it back together yet, we are going to do an intake gasket on it too because it is leaking. What else would cause it to pool up in that plenum?

EDIT: I should clarify. I never replaced the two fuel lines refered to as a "nut kit", but when it was pressurized (cranking it over) it did not leak. Would I only be able to notice the leak with the car running? I will show you were all of the fuel was sitting. If you look in this pic that 93lt took, where the lines are with the arrow pointed to it, right beneath that is clean as a whistle.

It seems like a nut kit would fix the problem if that is the leak. How much is one, and where can I get one.
