89 s10 blazer gas fouling plugs, won't idle.
My 4.3 v6 s10 blazer is fouling plugs out and won't run correctly. I have a mechanic friend coming over to set my timing correctly because we just turned the distributor until it would run. It will start and run as long as I am on the gas, but as soon as I let off it dies. I have replaced the following.
Fuel pump
Cap and rotor
Plugs twice
Plug wires
Starter
Im thinking it has to be a sensor dealing with air/fuel or spark. I have tested the map sensor and it working as it should but I am stuck. I don't have a manual and I don't know what sensors these trucks have. I plan to clean egr and iac.
The code it has thrown since I got it is a 54. When I replaced the fuel pump the previous owner had a wire going to the nuetral safety switch underneath the dash. I rewired it with a good connection, but I still don't know if it supposed to be there.
Any thoughts? Get out now? Push it off a cliff and claim insurance.
