i'm replacing the starter in my 89 s-10 blazer and the (+) battery cable terminal (the end that goes on the starter) broke off (i'm guessing from being bent???) but i need help on what to do for this...is a do it yourself job or does it have to go to a shop??? any help will be greatly appreciated....thanks in advance.

you can either go to your local parts store and buy a clamp fitting to replace the one you broke, or buy a new cable. Either way, you should be able to do it yourself

I would buy a whole new cable if you want quality work. If the cable broke, it's probably corroded through more than just the place that it broke. Its not an expensive fix, but i think it would be well worth replacing the whole cable. You'll feel better about it that way too.
