Default 1994 S10 Blazer VIN "W"

Hey guys. Awesome, informative site you have here... Keep up the good work.

So, I have this Blazer. About 185K, Usually a pretty good, strong runner. My dad owned it since new, and within his course of ownership replaced 3 fuel pumps. On the second replacement, he also replaced the sending unit and FPR. On the third, he replaced the tank. At 160K, I bought the truck, and replaced another pump only within 3 months. Then again a year later (Lousy Airtex pumps should all be buried in the dessert and their creators burned at the stake).

Now... My dad tells me that he replaced the FPR only once, but never had any issue with the CPI itself.

Now the other day while attempting passing gear, it bogged down on me and stalled. I got it to start again, but it only ran long enough to get it to the side of the road.

Good strong accurate spark.
Good Fuel pressure at the plenum. 62psi w/key on, then 58 and steady when the relay kicks off... held steady overnight.

Is this the indication of a defective CPI or am I missing something...? Any point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the EGR might be clogged.

Trying to get familiar with my '93... what exactly is the spider? And is that a nickname for a part or the actual name for it?
