starting

My 83 blazer will turn over 2to 3 times then the starter disengages. Any suggestions on what the problem is. I had the starter te
strd its good.

I am confused, it will turn over, or it wont turn over, by you saying turning over, I get the impression that the engine is turning over
if you mean that the starter will spin 2-3 times, but not actually engage and turn over the engine, then the starter is going bad.

so its turning the motor over, but not actually starting and running? what does the stater do after the third attempt? does the motor turn over, can you hear the starter clicking or whinning?
