Headlight harness

Headlight harness
I ordered a set of Hella HB2 conversion headlamps and I got to looking around on LMC the other day and they have a heavy duty headlight harness.
It says it takes the load off the switch which would reduce the chance of your wires catching fire.

Is this something I should be concerned about or is it kinda worthless to spend the money on?

As long as you stay with the 9003/HB2 bulb you will be fine. One of the advantages of the relay harness is that there is no voltage drop between the headlight switch and the headlights since the power to the bulb is now provided directly to the bulb and you will get the maximum amount of light output from the bulb. Another advantage is that the current draw for the headlights goes through the headlight switch with the relay harness it eliminates the current draw from the headlight switch. The headlight switch provides the power to latch the relays and is isolated from the headlight as the headlights get power directly from the battery once the relays are latched by the headlight switch. If you ever decide to go with HID's in the headlight i would get the harness. It is something that you do not need at the moment.

If you ever decide to change the headlight to HID Bi-Xeon Bulb (HID for both High/Low beam) the kit comes with it's own relay harness. I just purchased a H4 kit from HID EXTRA on sale and I will have to remove the harness I have curently installed and use the one in the HID conversion kit. (This is only if you get the Bi-Xeon Kit)
