Its about 20 each for the 2 boots on each axle, or about 100 each for refurbished axles... I would get the refurbs so I dont have to get so filthy myself... You will also need a CV boot clamp tool for about 20-30 bucks to tighten the clamps on the new boots and at least 20 bucks in parts cleaner to get the old joints cleaned up. 130 bucks to repair vs 200 to stay clean-ish and do the job faster. The front axles arent that tough to get out, you will need a 36MM socket to get the axle nut off, thats a specialty tool for another 20 bucks.

I agree with ohso. replace the axles. faster, easier, and far less of a hassle. plus you don't have to worry about any possibly missing bearings.

Also, do NOT try to do both at once. take one off, replace it, and then do the other one. you'll mess up your front diff.

also also: when you're trying to loosen the axle nut, take a sturdy flat-blade screwdriver and stick it through the hole in the brake caliper into a cooling fin and turn the axle nut against that. if you break your cooling fin, you needed new brake discs anyway. And make doubly and triply sure you re-torque your axle nuts correctly. I'm not sure what the spec is on these but i'm sure it's in any shop manual worth the paper it's printed on.

Axle nuts - 160lbs

I have someone step on the brake to loosen those badboys, not jam something in the caliper. Or use a pry bar across the wheel studs...

either way works. my old Camry got like 210 on that and it didn't break any cooling fins off doing it my way. And I did it myself.
