88 blazer 2.8l

the thing turns on just fine, and when i warm it up and turn the air on, and move the switch to full blast, the truck turns off. then it wont turn back on for a lloooong time, at least 30 minutes, and sometimes it wont turn on till the next day!

thoughts?

Sounds to me like you may have a loose lug nut

So youre saying the engine wont even turn over after you try to re-start it until the next day? Or it just wont start? When you turn the AC on, does the compressor begin to turn or do any dash lights come on before it dies?

Sounds like the battery /alternator isn't supplying enough power to keep the ignition running. Letting it sit probably gives the battery enough of a recharge to go again. I would diagnose the battery and alternator.

thank you guys but i figured out the problem.

the truck had a wire running from the battery to the alternator that was spliced and touching the exhaust, causing a shortage. i didnt look hard enough. the wire was one that went to the junction block.

thanks for your help all of you!
