Default Blazer Newb here.. I have a few questions

Hey everybody, I just picked up a 4-door 93 Chevy Tahoe(Blazer w/ the tahoe package) a couple months back for $2000. It has 178,XXX miles on it and is in great shape aesthetically. 4.3 vin code W engine, electronic 4WD, black leather and the interior is emmaculate.

Heres the problem: it ran fine for two-three weeks, then it had a stuck EGR valve, which fixed itself nad worked fine later. Next it was hard to start and wouldn't stay running, THEN when it would run it would just decide to die while driving down the highway. Giving it gas seemed to worsen the problem.
I ust graduated automotive tech school and I am far from ignorant about engines and stuff, but this baffles me. I recently replaced the fuel filter and spark plugs. This helped for a week, then it wouldn't run again. I took it to a shop and they couldn't find the problem. They tested the fuel pump and fuel press. fine and within specs. They tested the CTS, TPS, MAF, MAP, a lot of sensors too. Everything came back fine. There were a lot of codes thrown, but they were mostly false codes. The shop could not get the coeds to reappear and the same problems never reoccured twice. Two seperate, and reputableshops-- both with no idea of whats wrong
Could this be a bad ECU?

Also, the dash is a digital unit. The speedometer and odometer usually do not come on. The rest of the cluster works except for the speedo, odometer, and the blinker arrows. Every now and then the speedo shows up for a minute, but it is rare. The odometer will flash or will appear with incorrect mileage. Could this be linked to a bad ECU or is thedigital dashunit bad?

All help is appreciated, it is a good vehicle in great shape, I just want it to run!
