Default Digital Gauge Cluster Failing

Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum but i'm certain this place will prove to be a very useful tool when searching for answers.

Anyway, I bought a 1992 Jimmy SLE 4x4 4.3L Engine code Z.

My digital gauge cluster i believe is starting to fail (because its blicking), ive read that it may need a new capacitor? idk

What i would like is to just get a salvage yard backup cluster in case the current one decides to die.

My question: Has anyone done a cluster swap before? What years and models will work for my vehicle? Any info will help.

Thanks

You can attempt to fix it yourself, depending on the issue. You can also buy repair kits on ebay, or send it in for a repair. Are you looking for a digital cluster to replace with or go to analog?

If there was a digital or analog cluster that would fit my jimmy, i'd use it.

A digital R&R will be easier, but the mileage will change with the new cluster (not a huge deal). An analog swap can be done but would take some work.

I ordered the kit off ebay. Just replaced the components on the board yesterday and it works great now!
This is the kit i ordered, it comes with all needed to do the repair other than the soldering iron.
