Default Front axle pulling out of differential

Hi, I'm new to this forum and having trouble with my 93 S10 Blazer front axle. You put it in four wheel and everything turns but the front end. Did some trouble shooting and everything is working like it's supposed to. What I found was the axle on the right side has pulled out of the differential just enough that it won't engage. Pushed it back in and it engages the only problem is it won't stay in, keeps slipping out. Need to know how you keep it in there and how hard is it to fix. Sorry for the lengthly question but was trying to explain best I could. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

This is a new probelm. I have never encountered before, let alone heard of any one else.
I think you will have to pull the whole front chunk apart to fix it. Sounds like whatever is supposed to hold the inner axle in the case has broken free. Hopefully it is only a c-clip.

Thanks for the info. That's what I was leaning towards. Just was hoping could find some information on what to expect. Unable to find any pictures of what it's like inside. Just have to go slow and watch that nothing falls out. Thanks lilred67ddgt

Have you tried autozone for repair diagrams?
Enter your vehicle info and click ont eh "Repair" link. Look for diagrams or something along that lines. Should be able to find it from there.

Hope this link works. Looks for the view of the front diff, click on it. They show a c-clip holding the axle in the housing.
