my 89s fuel pump went bad last year. replaced it and ran for awhile like normal and now it wont start up. the last time i tryed to start it it fired and would just die when i gave it gas. i figured maybe the gas was old so i added 2/3 gallons tryed again and got nothing. got another 3 gallons today added to the tank. this time i poured a little over the butterflys and she cranked over. i pulled the throttle cable and saw a few drops come out the injectors i though the fuel looked darker then the fresh gas. but it just may have been the light in the garage. im not sure so im thinking im gonna try the fuel filter first before i move to the injectors or regulator. any thoughts on where it could be bad?? injectors vs regulator vs fuel filter. i got get the truck moved to my new place.

One you got was an airtex, which is hated in the blazer world. Im pretty sure its bad. Even if it still works. Go to carquest and buy a delphi. Or go to the stealership and buy a ac delco.

Buy either this guy
Amazon.com: Delphi FE0115 Electric Fuel Pump: Automotive

or this guy
Amazon.com: ACDelco EP386 Fuel Pump: Automotive

better pump for as much as the airtex pump..Cool stuff.

Electrical parts from any of the discounts parts stores are no good unless you pay more and get the name brand. I bought a fuel pump to go on my sons truck and it would not work, long story short, i returned so many pumps they give me my money back and would not sell me any more lol. I got a fuel tank of a parts truck and installed it and the truck fired and ran great. So, a good used pump is better than a new cheap one.

Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and see what it says... but yea... sounds like a pump issue. You did replace the fuel filter when you changed the pump right?

You have to test it at the inlet of the filter as the tbi engine doesnt have a test nipple at the engine. Needs to be 10-13 psi..

I still say its the pump
