Default Power windows not working

So I just purchased a 94 Jimmy 4 door, and the two front windows don't work. If it was one of the windows I would probably have already bought a window motor, but since its both I don't know. The two back windows do work.

Also, I just paid for it today, but i haven't picked it up yet. I was just hoping to get a jump on diagnosing it. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you checked the fuses?

I wouldn't go buying window motors until you do some investigating. You can unhook the motors and apply 12 volts directly to them to see if they are bad. It may be as simple as a switch.

stills sounds like it could be the motors... Get the door panel off and use a test light to check the motor to be receiving 12 volts when operating the switch.

Also, have you tried operating the passenger window with the passenger side switch?

Yes I did, the passenger side does not open with the passenger side switch. However, from the driver controls, I can open the two rear windows.

My guess is either bad motors or drivers side switch. Let us know...

When I was given my 92 blazer both of the window motors were bad. I would not be hesitant in changing them.

How difficult are they to change? I don't have any service information for this truck. Is the procedure outlined anywhere around here or can anyone give me a quick rundown?

here is a link to the DIY section for changing the window motors.

It really is pretty simple. Most replacement motors come with bolts to replace the drilled out rivets, make sure the head side is out on the bolt, otherwise it may interfere with the regulator arm.
