Huge loss of power and misfiring with NO codes
Hello
I have a 1994 S10 blazer Tahoe LT 4.3 Vortec with the "W" vin. The car has been sitting for last eight months, before it sat it ran fine. Now when cold it wants to die when i push on gas, when it warms up a few min its fine though. It also misfires and has a HUGE loss of power between 1800 and 3000 rpm. So far I have replaced the plugs (gapped to .45), wires, cap rotor, muffler, air filter and got an oil change 200 miles ago. When i changed the oil it smelled of gas and the engine compartment smells of gas and exhaust while running. I have had a couple people look at it and I get a different answer every time and Im done investing in parts that dont help. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated!!

Do a fuel pressure test and you'll find your answer. Then do a search on this forum for "cpi" & "nut kit". You'll find everything you need to know on How to, How much, How come etc:..........

well i doubt its a fuel problem cause i can smell the fuel in the engine compartment when running, so im assuming the fuel is getting there. and below 1800 and above 2800 rpm it runs perfect.

if you do a fuel pressure test it will tell you if you have a gas leak, like inside your engine

X2 on the gas leak. YOU WILL FIND YOUR PROBLEM. These guys know. These trucks with the CPI are known to leak inside the intake. Is your oil runny, smell of gas?
#7
Yea, last time I changed the oil it did smell of gas

Search, or even scroll down on this forum page, do some reading, you'll see how many problems on these CPI's come from leaky fuel inside the intake. Good Luck

mechanic told me i have 125 compression in #4 cylinder and my bearings are bad; it's
a 93 blazer tahoe lt and it started running rough all of the sudden,no engine or oil lights
on, new plugs, cap etc..i put 93 octane gas in it, now it's running almost perfect again. The guy wants me to put a new engine in. wouldn't it be running worse and worse if my cylinder was shot? I have 146,000 miles on it and a new fuel injection
put in 20,000 mi ago.
