oil filter problems

Default oil filter problems

I cant seem to get my oil filter off. I dont have a filter wrench so i am subbing with an old belt. A mech friend said to stab it so i did, but with no helping aspect.

I've had to stab them through and through with a screwdriver and use the screwdriver to twist them off. Or, go buy a oil filter wrench. Sometimes the right tool makes all the difference!

I've had to stab a filter now and then but I've never done in the end of the filter. The reason you stab it in the side rather than the end is so you can then use the handle of the screwdriver to turn the filter.

Not sure you can even get access to the side and then be able to turn it from the looks of the picture so a filter wrench might be your best bet.

Default fixed my problen

I was able to get the filter off by hammering a screwdriver threw the filter accesed from the engine compartment! Its all good now thank you everyone! My blazer is npw running i just need a new muffler but besides that all is good! I had to rerun vacume lines tune up that carb and reset the timing on the distributor.
