Default Oil Thingy

Hello

I have a little problem. On my 89 blazer the tube that comes from the motor for the oil broke in half when I took the cap off. I can't think of the name and I am trying to buy a new one. Autozone doesn't have it so yeah no go there. My mom is buggin the **** out of me to get it and she keeps telling me to go online and look. Anybody know where I can get it and what the actually name of it is?

Thanks

How long is this oil thingy?
Does it have a long piece of metal attached to the end of the cap?
About how big in diameter is this oil thingy?
Lastly what color is it?

If it is real short, about 2" in diameter, goes on top of the valve cover, has "OIL" or "5W-30" stamped in it. That would be your oil cap.

If it has a yellow cap and on the drivers side of the engine, it would be your oil dipstick, and oil dipstick tube.

If it has a red cap and on the passengers side of the engine, that would be your tranny dipstick and tranny dipstick tube.

Post up, and I can walk you through replacement.

Yeah I know which one is which but wasn't sure what the tube where the oil cap goes onto was called so i could order a new one.

The tube broke in half while taking off the cap and while I looked at it i notice it looked like it broke before and the guy glued it back on cause it had dry glue where it broke.

Ehhh, I'm not gonna be much help on this one. My oil cap goes straight into the valve cover on the passenger side.

Is this something easily removed? If so, I'd try your local junkyard(s).

If its the tube where you fill the truck up with oil? It's called the "Oil filler tube".

Yes thats it Hanr3 lol

I knew it most likely would have oil and tube in it lol.

Do you know of any stores I could go to that would have it or do I have to go online to order one?

Call your favorite local autoparts store and ask them if they have it, or can get it. If they cannot get it for you, ask them for recommendations. More then likley they will say dealer or salvage yard. IF you want to order it on-line, try this place. Late Model Chevy Trucks

Alright thanks

Will look into that site if I can't find a local autoparts place that has one.
