Default Power window problems

Hey Yall. I've run into a bit of a problem with the driver side window on my truck. Its a 1992 4 door with power windows and locks. What i'm running into is, the window will only go down maybe 1/3rd or a 1/4th of the way down, and once it gets that far down there is a grinding noise. Also, once its rolled all the way up, if you keep holding the switch there is a relatively loud popping sound. I don't have too much experience in this department and was wondering if anyone else had run into anything similar to this. I hooked up my webcam to my laptop and stuck that inside the door so i could get a look and snap a couple of pictures. I couldn't really notice anything that was off except the gear for the window seems to slide down the motor as it gets lower and lower ( no idea if this is the norm or if thats part of the problem). But, none the less, here are a few picture starting from window rolled all the way up to as far down as i can get it to go ( i took these from the bottom of the door looking up)

forgot to add that I did a small video as well. It starts from window partially down, back to up (followed by the loud pop), then down as far and then the grinding starts.

I don't know what it is, but mine is doing the same thing. I think I am going to start with the motor gear, which is $11.24 on rockauto.com. My window will still go up and down all the way if I help it along. If I don't push down or pull up, then I get the grinding noise when it is about 1/3 of the way down and the window stops moving.

Campesino... by the look of your video, it seems like the gearing between the motor and the window gear is stripped/stripping out. Personally, I'd head out to get either a new or used setup. The new motor will cost your about $85, or at least that's what one for my 94 cost me. It doesn't look like the window lift is damaged at all.

You can see in the video, unless the video isn't showing properly, that when the grinding starts, the gear that actually lifts the window stops moving. The thumping that you are hearing when you roll it up might be the internal gear poping into place.

You might want to support the window, remove the motor and lift assembly and take a good look at it. You'll most likly end up having to replace the motor, but don't overlook the possibility of having to replace the entire window life assembly.

ouch. That sucks, although I had figured something along the lines of replacing it would have to be done. I'll try and take it out and try to see what is going on with it. Thanks for the help yall, once its fixed i'll post and tell what was done to fix it.
