The other day, i pulled the instrument panel to switch out the temp gauge. Also I disconnected the speedometer cable as the needle on the gauge does circles. After doing this I went for a drive and my signals became progressively faster. Instead of blinking about once a second they blink about 3-4 times. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.

 

I know in my 98 they do this when there is no ground...

No ground or a bulb could have burnt out somewhere in the blinker system

 

Checked all bulbs, they are good. Which grounds would be best to check first? The ones going to the connectors on each blinker? Because there is only one that goes to the instrument panel.

 

Have checked your flasher well some people call it a flasher you can here it under your dash everytime your signal flashes usually if its going bad or it might be loose

 

No I was going to check it though. Hopefully it will just be that. It is only an 8.99 part.

 

Hey just checking back in with everyone. I have not got to checking the ground wires. My left front turn signal bulb did go out. I replaced it. They are still flashing rapidly. It will slow down and then speed back up now. Also I noticed that the volt gauge fluctuates with the turn signals. Hopefully I can get in there to check the grounds this week as it was raining all last week. Is there anyway to test the flasher unit? If anyone else has anything to add that would be great. do you have regular bulbs or LED bulbs? I ask because I used to have a pontiac aztek, and I put LED bulbs in the front and back and had fast blinkers after that. I thought it was cool though.

 

They are regular bulbs. I think it is pretty cool how they flash fast. Except that my volt gauge fluctuates with them, so I need to fix it. I think it is the flasher going because it clicks with the signals. They currently are not rapid and the volt gauge still fluctuates with them.
