Rmitch...good idea! It'd be really nice (and cheaper) if that was the problem!

Hey also while u got lines off put fuel pressure gauge on pump with other end of line plugged off going to TB! If pressure is good it is probably ur regulator causing u problems or u need to rebuild, clean ur TB, but if pressure is still low could be voltage problem to pump or bad ground, so check that to! If voltage is good I believe there is a plastic hose on ur pump that sometimes develops a crack in it and causes u to loose pressure, if thats the case u can get a new replacement tube at auto parts! But im no sure if ur pump is like that, i thought I would give u some more things to check before buying a pump because i know they r very expensive. Good lux and tell us if u got it fixed.

It looks like I'm going to let it go as it is for right now. It starts every now and then on it's own. If not, it does after I pour the gas in the throttle body. Annoying, yes, but so were the 10 years I spent with my ex-wife!!! I was going to drop the tank to see if the pump sock was clogged and check the ground, but the super rusted bolts holding the straps on didn't think I need to today. (Couldn't get them off with an impact) So, in fear of snapping them I'm taking a break. It's my only vehicle and I have no extra money right now to replace anything if it does break. Thanks for the advice!! Hopefully I'll get it going the way it should be soon!

those r good ideas but u have to remember with the vortec motor there is no rebuilding replacing of tbi cause its integrated into upper plenum. if there's nothing bad along tank and line problem it could b the pressure regulator or spider injection(those average 250 to 300).
