Default RE: Temperature Switch

What is the "temperature switch" for?? Engine? HVAC (probably not because of the year)??

The temperature sending unit for the gauge is located on the driver side cylinder head between cylinders 3 and 5. You may also have a temperature sensor located on the water neck which is what the PCM would use for temperature readings of the engine. Reason I say "might" on the temperature sensor is because I do not know if a 93 will have this...

ahh gotcha - The guy working on my truck ordered one of these because he thinks that's what is causing it to stall all the time. I dont think this is correct but oh well... Is this something that is just a "plug and play" ? I was watching a video on someone changing one (not sure what kinda truck it was tho) and he said to drain the coolent.

Both sensors mount into the engine cooling passages. It depends on which one will be replaced as to how much coolant will be lost. If it is just the one the PCM uses, then you will loose a bit of coolant, but not as much as the one on the side of the head which is lower. You can do this without draining coolant, but it is cleaner/easier if you do drain some. That is if you can get to the drain...
