RE: Throttle body
is it a stock TB? i belive that a TB is simply measured across the mouth, right?

RE: Throttle body
do you need a spacer? if your modding i wouldn't recomend it i have had a lot of mechanics and people who have installed them say they are a waste of money and sometimes have decreased performance.

RE: Throttle body
hmm...i have a spacer in my carbed race engine, and i have seen Many people with TB spacers who speak volumes of them. it technically lengthens your intake runners, which gives you more force, in theory.

RE: Throttle body
well i know adding length is good but usually they also add in grooves to spin the air like the "tornado". and i have been told on most set ups spinning the air causes turbulance in the intake manifold which screws with the fuel air mix but im usualy talking about injection and i dont really know about carbs. not a mechanic myself

RE: Throttle body
if you buy a good spacer, it should be perfectly smooth on the inner ring...

RE: Throttle body
yeah smooth should be good but to go a little off topic im planning to take off my heads to do some reapir work just looking for an opinion on having them "port and poished" (if i remember the terms right) do you think its a good idea or mostly a waste of money? im thinking about doing a exhaust upgrade next summer

RE: Throttle body
porting and polishing can NEVER hurt...especially on lower performance vehicles less effort is made for perfection on stock heads...alot of junk in the ports and so forth...polishing is nice, but porting is the BIG thing...get that if nothing else.
