Wiper activation during turn signal

Wiper activation during turn signal
I have read a few places on the Blazer forum where the wipers would activate at odd times for people but no answer as to what causes it or how it was fixed. Well my Blazers wipers sometimes activate when I use my turn signal( just one swipe) and again sometimes when the turn signal gets canceled. Is this caused by the turn signal cruise control switch and lever system going out? I appreciate any feedback on this problem. I may have to order a new switch unit. Price?

Sounds like your multi-function switch is/has gone bad.
They are quite spendy as a part (around 100$ the last I checked), I would check rock auto for a replacement, You can google rockauto discount codes and find them all day long.

There is a TSB on this issue that the dealership can install to fix. It is called Phantom Swipe. I have an 89 Jimmy that I purchased new and I tried everything I could think of to correct. It did not get corrected untill I had the dealership to the fix. Here Ok, here is the TSB 902668E May 90 - Intermittent Phantom Wipe (No Driver Input). Like I said I had this done at my local chevy dealer and no more phantom swipe. I believe parts and labor was under $150.00 for the repair. Call your local dealer and give them the TSB number and get a quoteis the TSP.

Had the same issue with the black inferno. The fix was easy and cheap. First, get a new 2 position switch from your favorite parts supplier (I like the LED light up kind). Next, run new wires for the ground and power. Finding a constant hot tap in the fuse box is easy. Once that's in place, locate the wipers power wire at the base of the steering column. Cut that wire and patch into the 3rd spot of the new switch. Just remember to use a thick gauge wire.
I have this setup in my 94 and it has been working great for years. Yeah, you have a new switch to flip before your wipers will work, but hey, it's really easy to adapt to.

Additional Switch sounds like the answer
I had the same problem with my 94, about 15 years ago. The dealer replaced the switch(es) under warranty, and they were back to the wiper-turn signal stuff in three months. I've just lived with it because I live in a rainy part of the US, but now it does it every time you start the vehicle. I'm gonna do the second switch, with the LED light.
