RE: "GR ..GR" Rear Axle removal?

Easy job get some axle seals, some RVT, gear oil, New axle bearings if you think you need them . You have 2 jack up the rear with the wheels off the ground. Remove both back wheels, calipers, rotors, and parking brake. Remove the diff cover, remove side gears, spider gears. Remove a C clip at the end of the axle. Remember to purchase two axle seals? (about $8.99 each.) Replace both left and right side axle seals. Remove the other C clip. Now pull out the axles and set aside not on the splines. I used plyers to yank off the old seals. Clean up the end of the axles tubes. make sure the new seals you bought are identital to the ones you removed. (less the destruction of removal.) coax the new seals evenly into the tubes.

Check the bearings. Replace them if there are flat spots.

Wipe clean the axle shafts
Reassembly: eveything in reverse order
Insert back into tubes and attach the C-clip(s)
I had to put the tranny in neutral to insert the side/spider gears. I turned the drive shaft a little by hand...

The rest is obvious. It's been a few beers and few years since I did mine. I may be forgetting a few steps.

Good luck.
