1989 k5 5.7 no power to fuel pump
Just replaced the fuel tank, pump, and sender. There does not appear to be power going
to the fuel pump. I did hook the fuel pump up directly to the battery so I know the new wiring harness is working. I do suspect the oil pressure regulator may be the issue now. Last time I did have it running the oil pressure gauge stopped working. The truck is 100% original with the exception of battery, tires, shocks and exhaust. My question is two parts, am on the on the correct path to resolving and where is the oil pressure sensor located on this 1989 5.7. I do see a sensor in the engine block \ just forward of the starter. Regards, Bpowers135 |
Does the pump run for a second when you turn on the key? Does it run while you're cranking? My first thought was also the oil pressure switch. I believe it's in the top of the block, behind the distributor, but it's been a while.
