I am seeking a little help with my '92 s10 blazer. I had an issue last week where it would not start. It turned over for about 10 minutes on and off with no luck. I had to go to work so I couldn't do a whole lot so the next morning I go to start it and all it does is turn over. Later that afternoon I swing by the house during lunch to try and start it and after about 10 seconds turning it over it starts. It drove fine the 2 times I used it after that then late this past week I go to start it and the same thing happens.. It's got plenty of gas and just turns over with no start.
My question is what issue could cause it to not start, then randomly start, then not start again after being used twice? The starter is going bad (Once in a while it will click a few times before starting) and i've been holding off on replacing it but would that cause the engine to turn over regularly without ignition?
I know that was kind of long winded but I wanted to get all the details in.. I appreciate any help I can get on here!

Faulty Coil or distributer can act up intermittently. No start is either going to be fuel, Spark or a timing issue. If fuel is ok and it runs well when it does start then is is not timing so it is down to spark. My 89 Jimmy was acting intermittently and I ended up replacing the distributer and I have not had any problems since. I tried the coil first with no luck. I purchased a NAPA remanufactured distributer. If you have an inductive timing light you can put the pick up on the coil lead to check for spark. Same with the plug wires. If you have spark on the coil lead check the plug wires. If you do not have a timing light you can get one from Auto Zone for free as part of the Loan a Tool program. You put a deposit on the tool and get 100% of the deposit back when you return the tool.

I had a similar problem... twice... both were separate issues.
1st time) Was super cold outside, and my best guess was crappy fuel that froze in the lines. Started up once it warmed up. How cold was it outside when this happened to you?
2nd time) Coil was bad. Tapping it with a hammer made it work a couple more times, and then I replaced it before it completely failed. Haven't had a problem since.

If you arent getting a CEL light on, then its fuel related.
Go to the loan a tool guys and get a fuel pressure gauge and strap it on. test values we want are KEY ON, STARTING AND RUNNING, and KEY OFF

Hey there, I hope you got yours going by now ; ) I was having a similar problem, so I started with the coil, (that wasn't it) then the distributor and rotor, (not it either) then before I checked the fuel pump I asked a mechanic friend and he loaned me a spark plug tester; turns out I still wasn't getting spark. He recommend I try the Ignition Control Module (housed in the distributor cap) and that was it!
All in all It took me about 4 hours ( including running back and forth to the parts store) and about $70, but I think it needed the other parts anyway. In fact, I should probably just go ahead and do the plugs and cables too.
