1993 s10 blazer towing capacity?
 

I have a 93 4-door 2wd blazer vortec 4.3, tahoe trans cooler with corvette servos, it's been lowered with 2" spindles and 2" blocks, and I need to know the towing capacity for it.. I haven't picked up a trailer yet, looking to get either a 5x12 or a 6x10 to haul two 4 wheelers on, a warrior and a banshee, total of about 800lbs of bike, plus the trailer is going to be give or take 8-900 lbs. But I'm mainly worried about tongue weight, if I go with a regular drop gate trailer, the axle is offset to the rear, which means more weight on the tongue, but if I go with a tilt then the weight is almost balanced over the axle of the trailer, which means either perfect or not enough tongue weight. I would rather have the 5x12 so I woudn't have to turn the front quad sideways on the trailer to load both of them. Does anyone here tow like this with theirs, or have any info before I go drop $1000+ on the wrong trailer?

you will be fine with either trailer. I pulled my 7x10 utility trailer though the mountains with about 2500 pounds in it and had not a single problem. Im sure your tounge weight is at least 1500 pounds, and Ive heard of guys pulling car haulers with full size vehicles on them. If I had to wager a guess I would say 1500 tounge, and 5000 towing capacity.

I agree that you'll be fine with a small trailer like the one you mentioned.

I believe the capacity is a little lower than what ohsofly mentioned though, most of the hitch manufacturers only rate their hitches to about 350/3500 with a standard trailer. I would recommend getting a trailer that allows you to center the load at least a little to help with the road manners. Many of the drop gate trailers are a little more balanced than you think. That gate adds quite a bit of weight over the back end, so you may be able to still keep a pretty good tongue weight with that style trailer.

For instance, I have this class 3/4 hitch and it only allows 350-tongue/3500-trailer with a normal trailer.

If there is a make/model listed on the hitch you have I'd suggest taking a look at what they rate it for. Just to be sure...
